About Us

Get to know the heart behind Let the Learning Begin

Welcome to our family

At Let the Learning Begin, we’re more than just a childcare centre — we’re a supportive, family-focused environment where your child can feel safe, loved, and inspired to grow.

Established in 2014, our privately owned centre is located in the heart of Warners Bay and licensed to care for up to 67 children each day. We’re proud to offer four generously sized rooms, carefully designed for babies through to preschoolers, and staffed by passionate local educators who truly love what they do.

We’ve made a conscious choice to operate just one centre — and that means our team’s full energy, attention, and heart goes into making this service the very best it can be.

A Homelike Space With Heart

Families regularly comment on the warm, welcoming feel of our centre — from our leafy outdoor spaces to our calm, homelike interiors. We believe children learn best when they feel comfortable, confident, and connected.

Our learning environments are thoughtfully created to be engaging, safe, and inspiring. Children are encouraged to explore, ask questions, build friendships, and develop their independence — all with the support of consistent, caring educators.

We Put Children First — Always

We’re committed to giving every child the best possible start in life by nurturing their sense of belonging, curiosity, and capability. From your child’s first day to their transition to school, we partner with families to support learning, development, and confidence every step of the way.

Our Philosophy

Every part of our day is shaped by what we believe about children, learning, families, and community.

Here are the key areas of our philosophy — click on each section to open and learn more about what guides us at Let the Learning Begin.

Respect and honour original owners of our land

We believe in acknowledging the original custodians of this land, the Awabakal people. We have the responsibility to maintain a sense of belonging and connection to our shared Aboriginal history and culture.

Actively practice inclusion and celebrate diversity

We celebrate and acknowledge diversity of culture, history, language, ability and values. Inclusions is embedded in our practice and programs so that all children are supported to be active members of our community. Inclusion ensures participation is meaningful within our programs and provides a sense of belonging for children, families and educators.

Support and foresee potential in all children

We strive to inspire a love of learning in language, literacy, science, numeracy, music and the arts. We are committed to focus on building friendships, independence and communication. We are dedicated in developing a strong sense of identity.

Encourage sustainable practice and learning through the environment

We ensure our physical environment reflects our core values of beauty, cleanliness, natural elements and respect. The children and educators engage in daily sustainable practice to ensure that we are contributing to a sustainable future and a healthy environmental outlook and attitude.

Learning through play

We believe the environment is also a teacher and assists children in actively learning. Children have the right to play, privacy, participate, be heard, practice their own culture, know their rights and make decisions in their world as stated in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989).

Collaborate with families and the community

We work together with families and the local community in order to scaffold learning and enrich children’s lives. We encourage families’ contribution to the curriculum and planning. We invite families to events and ask for input into policies and practices to ensure we all work collaboratively with one goal in mind, our children.

Recognise the essential role of Educators

We uphold the Early Childhood Australia’s code of ethics (2006) and ensure our practice is ethical. Educators advocate for children, continually reflect on practices and learning and are professionally accountable. Educators play an integral role in supporting and respecting each child as an individual and primarily support the wellbeing of every child within our care.

Early Years Learning Framework

Our program supports the “Early Years Learning Framework” (often referred to in the industry as EYLF) and embodies the central idea of ‘being, belonging and becoming’.

In conjunction with the framework, we assist in ‘Letting the Learning Begin’ by:

  • Recognising your child’s strengths and interests through observing and engaging with every child. We also gain more information through discussions with families. Working with families is an integral part of supporting all children in the learning process.
  • Planning experiences that build on your child’s skills and social interactions. Designing spaces that encourage exploration and making discoveries, so children can gain an understanding of their world. Encouraging knowledge growth and negotiations with others through intentional teaching.
  • Reflecting and evaluating the learning outcomes of each child. Documenting our findings to support future planning for all children in our care.
