School Readiness

Helping your child take confident steps toward big school — and beyond.

At Let the Learning Begin, we know starting school is a big milestone for both children and families. That’s why our school readiness program is thoughtfully designed to prepare your child for a smooth, happy transition to formal schooling — socially, emotionally, and academically.

Led by qualified Early Childhood Teachers, our approach focuses on building the confidence, independence, and foundational skills your child needs to thrive at school — and feel excited to go.

What is School Readiness?

School readiness is about so much more than learning to write your name. Our program supports the whole child — including their ability to focus, manage emotions, navigate friendships, follow routines, and feel capable in a group setting.

Throughout the preschool years, our educators introduce a balance of:

  • Structured learning experiences
  • Intentional teaching moments
  • Open-ended, play-based learning
  • Collaborative group activities

These experiences help children develop critical life skills — from taking turns and solving problems, to expressing ideas and showing empathy.

What We Focus On

Some of the skills we build throughout the year include:

  • Holding a pencil and writing their name
  • Following instructions and understanding routines
  • Managing their belongings independently
  • Building attention spans and focus in group settings
  • Using expressive and receptive language
  • Developing early numeracy and literacy skills
  • Taking turns, sharing, and resolving conflict respectfully
  • Using tools like scissors and engaging fine motor skills
  • Developing confidence to ask for help and try new things

We also help your child build resilience and adaptability — so they feel ready for the new social, emotional, and learning challenges that come with big school.

We Partner With Families & Schools

We believe the transition to school works best when we work together. Throughout the year, our team:

  • Communicates regularly with families about your child’s progress
  • Works with local schools to support a seamless handover
  • Provides a Transition to School Statement for each child in the year before Kindergarten

Our aim is to give every child the tools, routines, and mindset to start school with confidence — and to help you feel supported and informed along the way.
